I was perhaps mislead. I though that I could download the files to my pc and then watch the files from my PC to the HDTV using the HDMI connection to get a better quality picture. I was not expecting 1080 clarity but something better then 480. Now I just found out Best Buy has a 15% restocking fee on this item.

What’s great?
It’s light, easy to operate and very good quality. The 80GB hard drive has lots of room. The option to use an 8 GB microSD card makes it flexible. I haven’t had need to upload to YouTube, but I have heard it is very easy. You can set it up to record to hardisk and take still on the microSD, or any combo you want.
It worked really well with my semi-pro tripod.
What’s so-so? It’s a little clumsy getting the video off the camcorder and the software is a little confusing. But you will figure it out after a fe tries.
What stinks? Using it as a still camera. Perhaps it’s operator error, but almost every shot is blurry and the color is off. My older Fuji 5.2MP point and shoot digital takes much better shots. Again, it could be something I’m doing wrong. I did learn that there is a light feature to add brightness to the stills.

The use part of the camera is fine. It’s easy, good quality, and small. BUT the camera records in the MOD. format ONLY. So if you want to use any of the other basic software to “make movies” like Window’s Movie Maker or Microsoft Muvee Producer, forget it! It has been a nightmare trying to find a converter that works, or that doesn’t take 2 hours to convert a 10 minute video into wmv. or one of the other familiar file extentions…
I’m upset that I bought this camera..Research!!

The JVC Everio GZ-MG670 80GB HDD Camcorder (Black) was bought for our honeymoon and was it easy to use. So easy to use in fact and so small that a younger couple married 55-years inquired about it and said that they to were going to buy one.

Love this camcorder!! Took this on my wedding cruise and the videos are great and the zoom is unbelievable!!! Battery life was very good also, although I did take a spare battery with me but I never used it. It is very easy to use and not hard at all to figure out all of the functions.
