This mount does not work well. It looks bad, falls off my dash, and is just plain awkward. Terrible product design.
It was returned. Not recommended.
You should try the ProClip mounts. They are the best. They are made specific to match your device and car. You buy the device holder and then the car mount that is made specifically for your vehicle. They are wonderful. I bought a set for my iPhone 3G. I Love my ProClipUSA mount.

I got this for my iPod classic. The adhesive that is supposed to stick the thing to the dashboard was barely even sticky when I opened it, and even without the iPod it was extremely unstable, and when I DID put the iPod in, it would just fall over no matter which way I positioned it.
The windshield mount works nicely, but I was very disappointed by the dash mount. This thing just isn’t sturdy enough, and I’m returning it.

I am extremely disappointed in this product. I needed this for a long trip so that I would not have to continuously look down at my iPhone for directions. The Kensington Dash Car Mount would not mount to my dash and absolutely would not hold my iphone while attached to the windshield. It was rather unnerving watching my very expensive iPhone keep falling out of the holder. Whenever the mount had my iPhone in it, it wouldn’t stay attached to the windshield. I cannot begin to describe how unhappy I am. I would love to hear from anyone who has a dash mount that would actually hold the iPhone that is NOT a Kensington product.

Had a hard time finding a suction cup mount for my iPhone that would fit it both vertically and horizontally. This one is great! Bought this so my iPhone would be up on my window where I could see it and who was calling so I am not fumbling around my seat or cup holder next to me to find my phone. Great item! I put the suction right next to my rear view mirror and GPS unit where it is up and out of the way, but you can still see it. I would recommend turning off your backlight at night though as it could be distracting when you drive.

This thing broke as I was putting it together. There were no specific instructions on the assembly, and the pin to hold the bottom suction components on is cheap plastic and does not reach to both sides of the frame. I sent mine back.
