I purchased this card thinking I could transfer 2 external sata drives. Nope. Wasn’t able to transfer anything – just hung my computer (couldn’t even move the mouse). Had to turn off one of the external drives to get back control.

Easy to install, no driver needed for Mac OS X 10.5.x. Fast data transfer. Well built, good quality. Using with a LaCie 2T Quad hard drive with eSATA connection. Only thing is I wish it’s bootable in Mac OS X. Maybe it is… I haven’t tried.

Can’t think of anything I’d do differently, the card worked immediately, it has performed perfectly. Probably the best thing I can say is in just a few weeks I had forgotten it was even in the computer.

I am using this product on a ppc g5 dual 1.8ghz running leopard 10.5.8 with an external esata enclosure kit raid solution. The transfer rate of my pci slots is 33mhz if I remember correctly. There is another similar card with a higher transfer rate but that card will not work on my system. Also there is a small jumper on the card that must be moved before installation. The instructions cover this. I have never experienced errors with a lacie product, and this product has been error free for 3 months.

Awesome
I plugged it in and connected my external 1TB drive and it works, what more is there to say
I have a G4 mirror door Mac and my old transfer was through the USB which was very very slow.
The only step was to move the jumper on the card for mac, took 2 seconds and it shows you in the instructions, easy.
I’m very happy, great buy
