Just want to say that this product is awesome! I had a “Belkin” before this and it was noisy and basically flat. This one is absolutely quiet and I simply adore the way you can adjust the height. Makes typing a lot easier.

I really like this product it does what its supposed to very well. The only problem I’ve had is the fact that the right fan stopped working. Overall though, it really hasn’t detracted too much from the overall performance.

If you look at some of my past reviews I have reviewed a lot of other laptop stands which I do love. There was one that was an adjustable stand and I loved that product and still do then there was one that was just a cooling pad with built in fans, and it worked great and loved it also. Well this product combines those two concepts into one and I la la la love it! That is actually an understatement I just cant think of anything better to say. Well lets start off with the fact that the fans are amazingly quiet and the fans work excellent. One of my favorite aspects though is the USB hub, my laptop only has four USB ports and for me thats not enough, I plug in my mouse, keyboard, flash drive, and my iPod. I have no room to plug in the stand so the fact that it comes with more ports is a very nice feature for me. In closing I would like to say that this product has made my life better! I know it sounds cheesy but I really enjoy this product and use it to the fullest.

I got this stand to use on my Gateway 7805u Laptop. My impressions are:
PROS:
- My Gateway 7805u Laptop fits on the stand pretty well
- It’s black and matches the “look” of my laptop better than my old silver Rocketfish non fan stand
- It has a USB hub built in
- It has two fans
CONS:
- It’s made out of a very cheep looking and cheep feeling plastic
- It’s packaging looks and feels like something you’d get at a thrift store, it has no printed instructions and mine arrived with a screw popped loose in the bag
- The stand itself is uneven and it “wobbles” when touched. This is caused by it having two “feet” in the center as well as four “feet” on each corner. The center feet, due to warping or bulging in the plastic cast, sit lower than the corner feet so when the stand does not have a laptop weighing it down it has a massive “wobble” to it. With my relatively heavy 17″ laptop sitting on it the wobble is not as noticeable, but it is still there.
- The actual benefit of the two fans is yet to be seen. I ran a few stress tests with my laptop on my old stand and on the new stand with the fans running and saw very little actual change in the operational temperatures.
- The fans are not -loud- per se, but they are definitely audible and you can tell they are running even in a room with the TV going and other ambient noise.
- The USB Hub fails to be recognized by my laptop every other restart and the devices attached to it always fail to be recognized by Vista (logitech mouse and keyboard). The only “fix” is to unplug the USB hub and plug it back in letting Vista require it, which is a pain.
- I had to move my Logitech illuminated USB Keyboard back to one of the laptop’s built in USB ports because Vista simply refuses to “see” it when plugged into the hub
- The stand’s fans are powered by the USB hub. The stand has an AC adapter plug in port but DOES NOT come with the adapter, so you MUST have one free USB port on your laptop to power the hub and the fans
Final Verdict:
I don’t think this is a BAD product but be aware that it is most definitely NOT a “high end” well finished accoutrement for your laptop. It looks cheap, it feels cheap, it’s wobbly, it’s fans are not as whisper quiet as one would like and it has definite Vista connection issues when used as a USB hub. All that aside, the main reason I bought this stand was for the two fans in it and because it was a black stand that I felt would better match my Gateway laptop’s gloss black finish. I am mildly disappointed in the noise level of the fans and on my first tests the temperature control gain from the fans is not as good as I was hoping. I am also mildly disappointed in the cheap “plasticky” matte black finish of the stand, it better matches my laptop by the sheer luck of being black but when you see the gloss black of my 7805u’s bezel next to the shoddy matte black of the stand there is still a definite “look” clash
All in all I am not totally disappointed (yet) but at the same time I am far from impressed. I personally feel this stand is NOT worth $40. If I had to buy it again I wouldn’t pay over $20 MAX. And even then know what you are getting into before you buy as you may be far less forgiving than I am over this stands numerous flaws.

The stand is extremely wobbly–it does not topple over, yet the unnecessary motions of the computer on the stand creates various inconveniences whenever I type. The fans, on the other hand, work well and are very quiet. 17” laptops are definitely discouraged from entering into a relationship with this stand (i have a 15”4).
