I purchased a new thinkpad with accessories all of which were back ordered. I had problems with setting up the home network in the Windows 7 system. I called their service and they denied the warranty I had just paid for. Their order status web site is always down. The 866 order status phone based system is a bunch of barely English speaking people who also do not have server access. My accessories are on a never ending delay (up to three months now). I bought Adobe Creative Suite Windows ED not knowing that ED did not mean edition but meant “educational”. I did not get a serial number and could not activate the software. To return it cost me $50! Never again will I order a Lenovo.

Whew, where to start.
-It takes upwards of 3+ minutes to transition to sleep.
-The wifi (Intel) quite often after resuming from sleep shows no scan list.
-Recently, the wifi stopped showing a scan list permanently. No rebooting, driver disable/enable, driver reload, pulling the battery and A/C would help. It’s just gone.
-It’s incapable of streaming a hi def video from the ‘net or playing a DVD without spending a lot of time to tweak Vista to disable things like drive indexing or searching for windows updates automatically.
My old T60 with XP was faster than this thing in nearly every respect. I’m going to try upgrading from 2GB ram to 4GB but that won’t fix everything.. I may just try and return this thing. Very disappointed.

I ordered this laptop for my son so he could take on the road with him for his work or when on vacation. I had it sent to my house so I could load some software I had ordered. I also ordered some other things to go with the laptop like a carrying case. I played with the laptop for a few days until everything arrived and I thought it was an excellent purchase. It appeared to very sturdy – good for taking it on the road. It was pre-loaded with Windows XP Professional but has Vista Home Premium backup licensed for the PC. It had an option to upgrade to Windows 7 if you prefer that.
I have sent everything to my son in the meantime and he has used for a couple of weeks. He is using it wirelessly in his home but has not taken it on the road at this time. Everything seems to be working smoothly. He also has a wireless HP printer that he has been using with the laptop with great results.
I would recommend this computer to anyone who needs a solid computer to take on the road.
