Bought this to complement my original 6-cell battery which came with my XPS 1530M. It is sold as a 9-cell and is cheaper than the 6-cell battery from Dell. So I thought it would be a good deal. Wrong!
I did the usual full charge / full discharge cycles that you are supposed to do when you get a new battery. But it did not do much good. On a full charge, this battery would barely last one hour (on Dell’s High Performance setting), which is less than the original 6-cell Dell battery.
I gave it a rating of 2 stars because I like that the extra thickness gave a nice tilt to the keyboard (which I like better that the normal flat position).
On the positive side, when the seller (Brainydeal) saw the 1-star rating I had given them, they immediately sent me a UPS prepaid return label and they refunded me as soon as I shipped the battery. At least they have a good customer service.

Charge is ok, but it causes a bulge in the back of the laptop that makes it impossible to move the screen all the way to the back. Also it doesn’t enter too well when inserting into the laptop, having to press some of the clips by hand to make it click.

My Dell 6 cell and 9 cell batteries died within 24 hours of each other. Neither would take a charge. They were 1.5 years old and not overly used. I thought it might be my adapter but it wasn’t. I ordered the Dekcell 9 cell battery. It arrived in 2 days with standard shipping. I charged it overnight as suggested. It lasted 3 hours with the WiFi radio on and full screen brightness. That’s comparable to my original Dell. I don’t see any reason to spend a lot of money for the Dell especially since they didn’t last long. It fit properly and has a charge level indicator. I only gave this battery 4 stars since I don’t know how long it will last.

I received this a few days ago, and so far it works very well. I haven’t used it to the full extent of it’s charge, but my computer estimates that it lasts about 2 1/2 to 3 hours on “high performance”. It fits perfectly into the battery slot, and looks almost identical to my Dell battery. My last battery was a 6-cell, and this 9-cell is essentially the same thing with a bar across the bottom that raises the laptop up a bit. Once again, everything fits into place perfectly, and the battery looks to be of good quality. I will update my review if there are any changes with the performance of the battery.
