The logitech lapdesk is nearly the perfect tool for those of us who use notebooks, netbooks, laptops as they were made to be used: anywhere. I like being able to use my netbook in bed, or on the sofa, and this lapdesk provides a nice surface, with a little grippy pad to keep your computer where you put it, and a little pull out pad for the mouse. It is designed to be used in a number of different abgles, and, like everything else I have seen from Logitech, it is sleek, lightweight, sturdy and well designed.
The only reason i am giving it 4 stars, instead of 5, is that the included product literature says it was designed to keep the heat off your lap, and this it does… but, likely not as well as another Logitech product: Logitech Notebook Cooling Pad (N100)
It is not terribly much of an issue for me now, as my little Asus netbook does not generate much heat. I suspect that this lapdesk would be adequate for many, if not most, current netbooks and notebooks (though I do not know if other brands generate more heat). I repeat, this is not a big issue for ME, but, if your primary goal is to dissipate heat, I would recommend the Logitech cooling pad. If heat is not an issue, this little lapdesk is very nice…..
Now, if the cooling pad had that little mouse pad there would be no decisions, no compromises.
As far as I can see, those are the main points of difference:
If heat is an issue, the cooling pad is likely a better option.
if heat is less of an issue, but you want some workspace, room for a mouse; a little more flexibility, I would go with the lap desk.
I’d give it 4.5 stars if I could. The half point loss is *only* because Logitech offers another very nice product in the same price range which not only keeps your lap cool, but your computer as well.
Another solid product, from a company which has not failed me yet.

As my title says, this lapdesk is almost perfect. The flaw is in the pullout mouse tray. Within a few days of use, I noticed that the thin ridge around the tray was causing discomfort in my palm. However, I noticed that when I turned the lapdesk over, the bottom side of the mouse tray has 3/4 inch smooth border which is very comfortable on the palm. It may not be as pretty upside down, but it sure feels nice. I use this lapdesk every day for several hours and I am very happy with this product. Buy it, but flip it over for best comfort!

In a sea of laptop desks this one peaked my interest right off the bat. Why? Because it has a built in tray for your mouse. Sure ,there are “cushier” laptop desks and ones that have cooling fans but this is hands down the one you want to get if you want to use your mouse. No more juggling a hot laptop on my legs while trying to maneuver the mouse on my sofa cushion. I love it! Since ergonomics is the buzz word with products nowadays,I don’t know why the manufacturer didn’t come up with some sort of soft wrist rest or cut out design at the bottom of the mouse tray.My wrist does tend to get sore after awhile of using the mouse on the tray. It is almost perfect except for that one minor detail.

This is my new favorite Mac accessory to use while sitting in the backyard on Sunday morning with the New York Times crossword puzzle.
* The lapdesk stays secure and it keeps the heat off my lap.
* The mouse tray slides out easily and the surface area is just right.
* The texture of the desk is non-slip and the color complements my MacBook Pro.
* It’s very lightweight and easily transportable.
* One nice-to-have would be a softer area of contact between the lapdesk and my lap.
* If you want the ability to change the angle of the computer, research one of Logitech’s other lapdesks.
* For the price and portability, this is a great product.

This lapdesk is covered in a very nice non-skid coating, making it very easy to move the laptop+lapdesk combo around without worrying about accidents. The pull out mouse pad is very nice – it has a rim around the edge to prevent your mouse from falling. However, if you use your mouse for long periods of time, that rim can sometimes irritate the bottom of your wrist, which tends to sit on that part of the mousepad.
The desk is very sturdy – no bending or bowing as far as I’ve seen. It doesn’t completely block the heat from my laptop, but it does reduce it by around 75%, which is good enough. Anything that runs too hot for that to be comfortable can’t be good for the laptop.
It’s very light, easy to carry and thin. I’m glad I invested in it.
