I bought this speaker to get more volume out of my laptop. I know this unit is small but it can’t be worst than the speakers on my laptop, right? Wrong, they are really weak to the point that I prefer the tiny sound of my laptop speakers. I tried it with my PSP which has ever smaller speakers and not much improvement there either. Maybe there is a use for these speaker I just don’t know what it is.

Have had this now for a few days. I have owned passive speakers and they just never have enough volume. This one caught my eye since it is battery powered. It’s battery is internal so you never have to buy batteries. I bought it to use with audible books. It works great for that. The music is fair. It is small enough to fit in your pocket so that is nice. Quality is outstanding. Nice fit and finish.

I read everyone’s reviews and decided to buy this even though they all said it’s not loud. I have to agree, it doesn’t really fill my bathroom with music while I take a shower. But for sharing information with someone else it is easy and convient and I don’t always have to have my ear buds in. But it for what it is. If you want big sound from a small unit buy a Bose!

This speaker is as mentioned in other reviews but… I got it to take to Europe and find that the ONLY way you can charge it is with USB port. I am traveling light and won’t have computer. Besides, if I had computer I could listing to music on it.

Macally has a nice product here – good sound overall.
As others have written however, the volume available is very limited.
I use it only when there is no background noise at all as it simply does not have much power.
