Anyone interested in this product or ANY product like it should seriously consider other means of attaining television. Google MAGNAVOX TB110MW9 hidden camera and mic. Once taken apart there is clearly a hidden camera pointing out of the front face of the reciever. And next to it is a directional microphone. Big Brother? Or a corporation selling information attained to the highest bidder. Companies such as google admit that they want to listen to or watch consumers background noise or viewing habits to target advertising on a per-user basis. This device and possibly others like it are an invasion of your privacy. Don’t trust these devices.

I had exactly the same problem; guy at Walmart tells me it’s my tv. Deleted all channels, tried cable setting, tv setting: nothing works once you go analog with this piece of crud. It’s dead.
Not real happy with Amazon lately either.

After making all the necessary cable connections to the TV and antenna, turned on the device and started the scanning function. It never picked up any channels. Tried scanning for channels again but no channels detected again. Tried to reposition the rabbit ears antenna that worked fine for analog TV but the converter box could not pickup any digital channels. The analog pass through worked OK though. Tried connecting the box to a different TV set as well as a different antenna, and this time I could not even get any menu on the converter box at all — no way to scan for anything — just static on the TV. Plugged the converter box back to the original TV with the new antenna that had been repositioned for even better reception, but, once again, there was only static when trying to access the converter box — no way to scan for any channels. Bought an RCA dtv converter box instead from a different retailer, and that RCA dtv converter box worked fine right out of the box with the original TV. This Magnavox pile of junk is not even worth one star.

My unit is “refurbished” but still defective. I tried it on two televisions with several different cables, but I got only snow on the screen. No, I did not connect it improperly. I made sure of that, repeatedly, until I concluded that I got junk.

Worked fine till it got a year old then stopped working all together. Usually I prefer my electronic devices to work longer than that. Call me crazy I guess.
