This hard disk have no On/Off Switch. This is a big drawback. I might return my product to the seller soon.

Purchased this item last weekend. While the software works as expected and drives seems to behave appropriately, it has a BIG WHITE LIGHT on the front that flashes constantly. I contacted Seagate & was advised this is the way it was designed and that it is in power saving mode when it is slowly flashing. It must be in this mode all the time because it never stops. I do not recommend the drive for this very reason.

I have a 500 gig one touch 4 drive , this drive software has wiped out my OS windows installer and re written the permissions for my system I am attempting on running it on XP Pro. The software encountered an error will not install or un install . will not let me access files on my system telling me I need administrator rights I am the administrator , , Be very careful running the software that comes with this drive .Also the software is so limited it only restores one file at a time I have over 300,000 files to back up , Segate/Maxtor don’t even answer your e-mails.

It worked in the morning and refused to work again in the afternoon, and never start up after that, on multiple PCs it used to work well.
It is recognized by PCs as USB massive storage, but no drive letter and not in disk manager list.
In trash can now.

It is a good drive until you have to contact customer support. Poor response. Also, the security software is flawed. I could not access the drive from a different computer when the drive is locked. Use “True crypt” if you would like to secure your USB data.
