Microsoft Office 2008 for MacThis release appears to be a far reaching update for a classic product.

Since I didn’t have Microsoft Office software, I often sufferd from writing/turning in reports. This is very useful, and I’m happy with it now. Thank you!

It works as advertised. I have both MAC and PC platforms and for MAC there are cheaper solutions available that do the same things. MAC is a greeat platform for open source apps. IF you want total compatibility with PC Word and other Office suite products then this product should be your choice.

Although the special media edition has a higher list price (it has additional features), it can be found for cheaper through individual purchasers who got 2 copies of Office when they purchased earlier this year. You may want to check it out: Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Special Media Edition. Either version has all of the typical Office software you would expect and is far more intuitive than the prior edition.

I’ve used a number of versions of Microsoft Office on my Macs over the years, and I can’t imagine life without it! The installation was a piece of cake, and the programs run smoothly.
Sure, there are a hundred features I’ll never use, but Entourage is open on my laptop all day, every day. It syncs perfectly with my iPhone calendar and contacts, and manages my email elegantly. I use the calendar daily. I’ve never understood the appeal of Apple’s separate calendar/email/address book, when Entourage integrates all three so perfectly.
Microsoft Word and Excel are the same applications I’ve come to rely on over the past versions and years (again, with a hundred new features I’ll never need in my current work).
And of course, everything integrates perfectly with PC colleagues. What’s not to love?
