I have been running Win2000 for more than five years and it was time for an OS update. At first I feared many of my beloved third party software would be obsolete, but to my surprise the support was there. Except for the fact many of my old games did not work on it. Otherwise I am very satisfied. It’s new and it takes time to get used to it. I use it with finance, DVD editing, MP3, DSL, Photo and office software with few to no problems. You must run it on a recommended computer setup. The only drawback is you need at least 1 gig of memory or more. More is better. I think it is the best MS operating system so far. However, if you are useing XP there is no reason to change, the difference is not that big.
I didn’t say much here other than I am a fan.

It is so similar to Windows Xp that the idea of a learning curve is insignificant. I am really enjoying this operating system. It has faster windows, faster boot time, better security features, faster down loading of updates and internet files. It is so easy that my wife loves it eventhough she has only medium level computer experience. Although I mostly run Fedora Linux, it is much faster, easier to use than Windows Xp or Fedora Linux 6. I may not like Microsoft “the monopoly” or monopolisoft. It is pretty good OS!

I did not like the windows visa. I could not use the product. I wish I never ordered it.

I thought I had lost my computer untill I decided to install Vista. Installation was a snap now I have a brand new up to date computer. have Vista on three of my four computers now and I love it.

Windows Vista Basic is worth purchasing for only a few reasons.
1) It is inevitable that at some point (though certainly not now), Windows will stop creating service packs for Windows XP.
2) Regardless of Vista’s RAM-consuming ways, companies have shifted and will continue to shift away from creating software compatible with Windows XP towards software compatible with Windows Vista.
3) Vista Basic is, by far, the least RAM-consuming Vista product available. You might be able to run it without using half of your RAM idling. If you want a more advanced Vista, make sure you have a gigabyte or two of RAM to spare to actually do anything.
Anyways, if you use your computer for internet and simple Word/Excel/PowerPoint documents, don’t bother switching to Vista. There’s no point. If you like to stay on the cutting edge, get Vista, and stand in awe of its Mac-esque bubbly-ness and ability to do nothing while frying your system resources.
