Appears to be well made, but failed within a few charge cycles. No longer accepts any charge.

I’ve been using this battery with my Acer Aspire One for about two weeks and love it. Make sure you condition the battery a few times, though!! I’ve heard that if you don’t it won’t work right.
Conditioning consists of:
Burning down any charge it comes with.
Charging to full.
Burning down all the way.
Charging to full again.
And then you’re done!
Overall it works great. It protrudes out a bit, but since the laptop is so small anyway, it doesn’t keep me from fitting it in my girlfriend’s purse.

Received battery with an 80% charge. Let charge for 24 hours and remained at 80%. Let discharge to 70% and would still not charge. Did not fit as well as standard battery in width and small gaps. Returned and bought a different battery. Bottom is pretty round and doesn’t obstruct very much nor lift to an extreme angle. If it would have charged it wouldn’t be bad so 2 stars… maybe you will be luckier.

Fresh out of the box I throw this gem on the back of my laptop and plug in the charger. Once it is fully charged I set out to run it all the way down just to cycle it a couple times. That’s when I discovered the truth. This isn’t a huge ugly laptop battery sticking off the back of my Acer like a bad imitation of a laptop stand. It is a tiny, slim, and svelte zero point module. So here I am, six weeks later, laptop on battery, screen on, no sleep mode, no power offs, and the battery still shows 99%. It will never run down. I tried plugging a hair drier into the usb port, but the battery just won’t run down. In fact, the laptop now refuses to turn off, sleep, hibernate, or even reboot. It just keeps going, and issuing pop-up windows warning me about incoming wormholes.
(okay – I made all of that up, but it is a large ugly battery that works very well and lasts a really, really, really long time. One star deducted for the ugly part, and because I rarely give five for anything.)

When I purchased the Acer, reviews on the original battery were poor. I new going in that it would be a problem, but I figured I would just replace in time. The problem was that when the netbook first came out, the replacement batteries were about $100. each, and it was very limited where you would buy one. Thats 1/3 of the price of the computer. Months past, and Amazon came thru with this unit. OK, its big and heavy, but thats compared the original, and i like the way it tilts the netbook up. It has rubber feet, so it does not slide, and most important, with heavy use[...] this battery has lasted more than 6 hours. Maybe more, i really dont keep track, but I have yet to get a “plug in now, battey low” message after hours of use. And thats exactly what i wanted.
