Bought this from one of the resellers for 66.49 (don’t know where Amazon get’s their $140+ price from). Am using it on i7 860 chip. This is one of the few coolers that has a bracket for the 1156 socket. The unit comes with two 120mm Noctua fans. I only used one and used the other to replace an Antec case fan that came with the case.
With no OC, the idle temp ranges 24-27°C. Using an Asus P7P55D motherboard and using their auto OC tuning, idle temp range jumps up about 10°C. Have only had this build up and running for two days, so I have not had a chance to do much testing. I’m not a gamer, so it should be more than adequate cooling for my needs. And it’s quiet-really quiet.
Caution: this is a large heat sink and will not fit in some cases. I’m using an Antec P-183 case and have about an inch clearance between the top of the cooler and the case cover.
