This mp3 player is nice and small and portable, seems to have good sound as well. Don't know yet about the battery life. BUT, the controls are extremely difficult to operate and not even remotely intuitive. They are HORRIBLE. Don't waste your money on this one, buy one with easier controls.

The Aria is an excellent portable audio player. The player features Philips Full Sound technology, which provides great sound quality. The Aria is also is Optimized for Rhapsody, allowing subscribers to easily transfer Rhapsody Channels along with unlimited albums and tracks from Rhapsody's 8+ million track catalog.

I also bought this at Target and thought I was getting something of quality for a reasonable price. It worked properly for about a week and then began freezing on a regular basis. At first I could fix this by hitting the "reset" button but then it would spend an hour "Updating" afterward. The last time it froze the reset button wouldn't work, it simply never turned back on and then the reset button got stuck. Needless to say I took it back.

They need a "no star" option. I thought this Phillip's product was a bargain (not purchased at Amazon--though I am a regular customer) and loved the idea it held 8 G of music. After a month keys began to stop responding at times. Today it stopped working entirely. Don't waste your money.

I'm a programmer by trade and I build my own computers and install my own operating systems, so techinal ability ain't an issue here.
Plugged it in first time to charge; charged for a while, then froze; it said "Do Not Disconnect!" and just stayed like that for a loooooong time. When re-plugging back in to the computer, it just repeatedly tried to restart, and the pop-up dialoge box in Windows popped up every time ( you know, open files or synch device or do nothing ), and that'd happen every few seconds, did it about a dozen times, and then it froze; then, it just completely died, won't even come back on.
So, I have no idea about anything else. My level of unimpressedness is pretty high here. Got it on sale at Target yesterday; taking back today. Going with SanDisc
