Bought this device a couple of months ago and loved it (on XP). Now I upgraded to Windows 7 and the drivers for Vista which should have worked fail to install properly, the sound comes on but the applet to select properties of sound like selecting four speakers instead of default two, crashes.
Checked the PPA USA website for Win 7 drivers and there is none. If you are buying for use with Win 7, wait till they release the drivers, for XP (and hopefully Vista) its a great product at a very very low $.

To clarify, these had no instructions so I was startled when I tried the rear and center jacks only to find there was no sound. Turns out, you have to set up the sound mixer to output those 2 (in my case I have 2 speakers and a subwoofer). So the jacks don’t work on the fly like a regular soundcard (other words, the jacks aren’t live by default), so you just have to choose your speaker output in windows to turn them on.
The sound quality is good and much louder than my old creative card or my built in sound on my very expensive motherboard. Voices in movies are very clear and solid. This is a great old sound card. No need to spend a fortune on those pci cards. Now if you want 8.1 you’ll have to get a newer device, but this one does just fine for me.
I got this so cheap it’s laughable. Can’t believe how much value I got for so very, very little.

For a laptop owner or an inexpensive way to upgrade your sound without buying pci and audio interfaces this works well. It is a good deal and seller JR delivered as promised.

This product is amazing! I have 64-bit Windows Vista Home Premium, and this product works fantastically! The only problem I have with it is with the sound mixing program it runs with. Firstly, there is no fade control (front to back fade), although there is balance (left to right). Secondly, when you change any settings in the program while the sound is running, you have to close the program (itunes, media players, youtube, etc.) running your sound and reopen it to hear anything, in other words you can’t always hear your sound adjustments in real time…you have to restart the programs first. Other than that, I have yet to encounter any other problems. I am running the sound card through my laptop’s docking station, and it seems to be running smoothly. This is a cheap, highly functional product, and everyone who wants a cheap sound solution should have this product!
