This unit does NOT have built in IR. I purchased one and now have to find a unit that has IR as I would never have purchased a unit without this feature.
Stay away from this unit!
The seller should stop misrepresenting this item!!!

Picture quality is great, remote works well, unit is slim when folded up. Owners manual says it has built in ir transmitter for wireless headphones. It does not. A call to Pyle confirmed that this was a manufacturing oversight and they are all like this. You will need a seperate ir transmitter for headphones. The wireless fm transmitter is weak which results in static. Also any satellite radio or ipod fm transmitter near your vehicle will overwhelm it. The screws for mounting the unit to the baseplate are much too short. The overall design of the unit leads people to try to pull it down by pulling on the dvd door. This obviously has to be avoided or the unit will be landfill. Also the built in led dome lights will require a relay to reverse the polarity for many vehicles lighting systems.
