This antenna is a good low cost alternative for cable TV. We were able to install it in about one hour. The only thing I didn’t like was the 300 to 75 ohm transformer, I replaced it with a higher quality one from Radio Shack. we get good reception without an amplifier.

I live in the San Diego South Bay area and the RCA ANT751 outdoor antenna allows me to pick up Los Angeles area tv stations. Highly recommended product for those who wants strong and reliable antenna.

We decided to purchase this antenna after receiving a letter from our cable provider that our cable price was going to go up again (second time in a year). We only purchased basic cable anyways so we figured what is the point of paying for basic cable when we can get pretty much the same channels for free. We purchased this antenna (RCA ANT751) and it works like a charm. My husband installed it in the attic, and said it was very simple to install. We were up and running in no time and canceled our cable that day. We get 20 channels both UHF and VHF; only 1 less channel than before (TBS). We have been using it for about a week now and the picture quality is just as good as when we had cable. We have had no problems. We live about 10-15 miles from the towers. I wish we would have bought this last June.

I’m 10-15 miles away from Seattle Downtown with its stations. So I new that this antenna “better be” caching all the channels. It did.
I mounted it outside on top of my roof to the chimnie. Roughly pointed toward downtown and its catching all the digital chanels. My house is surrounded by few huge pine/cedar trees, so I pointed between them, then did little more tweaking.
All the channels have 100% signal intensity.
About 4 channels (33’s & 40’s) have 60-80% signal quality, which still bewilders me since its impossible to see any difference between 50% signal quality and 100% – the picture is same, fine and stable.
Not bad for $45 but I have advantage of being relatively close to the stations. Easy intalation, very light in weight. With 2 people should be easier to install on the roof.

I received as good or better signal from a pair of amplified VHF/UHF rabbit ears that I bought ten years ago. One channel (ABC) I can’t get at all. The peculiar thing is that I am only 16 miles from the broadcast tower which is on top of a mountain that is 2000 feet above me in elevation. I have the antennae aimed directly at that mountain peak. Several stations come in superbly from the same mountain peak but this one channel reports as weak or no signal. A friend down the street whose view of the mountain peak is obstructed by a hill gets all channels with a pair of old RCA amplified rabbit ears. Go figure! Without amplification, however, he gets nothing at all and he did put the rabbit ears in the attic. If you have any question at all go for a bigger antennae than this. I would only get this one if you have space restrictions. I believe that is what this antennae is designed for——–people who cannot put up a larger antennae. I did mount the antennae outside 20 feet up in the air with no obstructions. For all I know ABC may broadcast a very weak signal which may never be an issue with other geographic locations in the country.
