Once upon a time, meats, nuts, and other foods were ground up with a hand-cranked apparatus. In order to keep as ergonomic in the kitchen as possible, it’s important to avoid repetitive tasks that place a high demand on the joints of your hand and wrist. This 200-watt electric grinder takes on the bulk of the work burden; all there is to do is push the food gently down into the hopper. The most obvious use for the grinder is for meats–sausage, ground beef or lamb, chopped liver, pates, etc. (The handy sausage stuffer attachment helps guide the ground meat into the casings.) I bought this product from Amazon. After the first use, the metal parts started to rust. Return the product as a result.

I had bought a Waring Pro from Beds Bath and Beyond but somehow it just got stuck while grinding Beef had to be returned. This Rival 2275 is plastic but solid built, all the parts snap in snugly and it just works. I would recommend this for home use definitely.

This is a pretty good little meat grinder, I’ve used it several times over the course of owning it and the only problem I have had is that when you grind up meat with fat and stuff in there, it has a tendency to wrap around the feed grinder inside of it, I had to keep taking it apart to take the fat and stuff out of it, but I don’t know if it was me or the machine. I’ve used it for beef and deer mainly and it does grind up the meat really well, though some you have to cut up really small to put in there, depends on the fat and stuff in there. It has 2 different grinding disk sizes and a sausage maker to go with it, though I have not used the sausage maker to it. The disk will rust a little if you don’t dry them out before you pack it away, but I found that putting them in a plastic baggie after they’ve dried works pretty good in keep the rust down on them. Over all, it’s a good little grinder, it impressed me.

I bought this for my boyfriend because he wanted to start making homemade sausages. It is a great little machine for the price! It definitely takes a bit of time to use, but the results were well worth it!
