the item is exactly as pictured, it works great and was shipped in a very timely manner. When checking w/ the company directly about my shipping date, they were not very informative and I was afraid I wasn’t going to receive it in time. But I received an email from Amazon shortly after speaking w/ them, and it was already being shipped. Amazon knew more about the transaction than the actual company.

I had to return my product because it arrived with a defective motor. However, having had my hands on it, I think I can offer some useful advice on this machine, even though mine never worked.
I searched long and hard for the right ice cream maker for me. I am accustomed to the wooden hand-crank White Mountain makers that my grandparents had always used. I wanted a similar product, but they have a big price tag and I wasn’t sure I’d use it enough to get my money out of it. Most electric makers are affordable but make only 1 or 2 quarts. This is the only cheap model that makes a whopping 6 quarts. So, I thought this was the one for me. Best of both worlds…
However, having had my hands on it, I didn’t care for its design or construction at all. I have no idea if the faulty motor is a typical problem or a rare defect, but the whole thing had a cheap and flimsy feel. I returned it rather than exchanging it for one with a good motor. I am now willing to either sacrifice the high quart capacity or a good deal more money for a higher quality product. If something seems too good to be true…
I am being rather generous with my three star rating, because I realize it is a bit unfair for me to pass judgment on a product that I was not even able to use. But I think this maker is only ideal for a family with a limited budget and a lot of mouths to feed…even then…if you really like ice cream…consider investing in the traditional wooden bucket make.
