I recently got a new netbook and of course I needed a dvd burner to make the recovery disks so I could remove the factory VISTA and put on Windows 7.
Well since I had a laptop dvdrw in a box all I needed was the enclosure for it. This fit the bill nicely, works great and luv the soft feel on the outside.
Seems to work best if I plug in the usb power cable first then the usb data cable last. NO regrets.

Pros:
-----

- Simple, rugged assembly
- Using two USB ports for power allows netbook users to plug each side into its own bus, giving power where netbooks' low-powered ports would normally have trouble

Cons:
-----

- Manufacture is not exact. Had to file down the opening to prevent my drive from hanging.

Overall:
--------

Totally worth the trouble! Because of this bay, I got an external DVD burner for $16 (a buddy of mine donated his when his laptop died).

I used an old dvd r/w from a broken laptop. It installed very easily. Powers off the usb connection. Required no drivers for either my Netbook XP or my desktop Vista 64. The case has a nice texture and feels very sturdy. I definitely recommend this if you have an old slim (laptop) dvd drive.
