Just bought this camera tonight at HH Greg. The controls are well placed, the touchscreen is super intuitive, but the video quality is HORRIBLE, in a medium light indoor setting the picture is so grainy you’ll think you’re looking at a webcam. Taking it back when I get out of church tomorrow. Note to self: Never, Never, Never buy any camera that doesn’t say CANON on it somewhere. Going to pick up an HV200 on Amazon instead.

This might be a great camera but it does NOT support Windows XP. Took me an hour and half to get to the right tech support at Sam Sung to Admit it doesn not work. They recommend you buy Cyberlink to make it work. In a nutshell, uses a proprietary format. According to manual and basic tech support codecs and editing program supposed to load from camera via USB on Connection. However does not with XP and no work arround, no codec available for download. I was able to try it on a friends Vista, it did load but program seemed very clunky. Might be a great product if they would get the software right.

This is a great camcorder…..great picture and lightweight….make sure you use the remote to get the best out of playback…..the slow speed playback is just what I needed to examine my son’s pop warner football games.

I purchased this camcorder because it was affordable and it had a stop motion feature that I thought was pretty interesting. Overall, I am very happy with the camcorder. The HD video has been excellent. It does get a little grainy in low-light situations, but I don’t think it is any worse than what I’ve seen with other HD camcorders. The video plays back great on my PS3, though my Mac seems to have an aspect ratio problem when importing it into iMovie. I haven’t tried the Windows based import software.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2HE8174FSGY77 This is video taken at 720×1280 HD setting on super fine quality (Not sure how well amazon video will upload it, but the youtube link: [...] . If you do plan on working with the video files in editing software, I suggest either using the built in intelli studio or another editing software to convert the files. I personally like wmv format, as it has amazing compression and retains awesome quality. The mic on this camera is also incredible, I was watching one of my clips on my laptop, and with my headphones in, I wasn’t sure if the person talking was in the video, or I was just hearing it past the headphones! Overall, it’s a great value, especially if you find it at a warehouse like Costco (where I bought mine).
