I give this device a 3 star because . . .
-1 star for no serial ATA signal cable
-1 star for not including mounting screws
—-
=3 star
It also does not include a power cable, but I had plenty of spare power connectors in my computer and I think most computers would have this as well.
Other than that it works great, but come on, you know we need a SATA cable! Why is this not provided?

No cables. Appears to be OEM (did not come in a box). Only came with drive and Nero 8 disc. otherwise looks good.

I recommend that you save your money for a better drive.
My Samsung drive broke a week after I installed it.
My Samsung drive malfunctioned for no reason at all.
This Samsung drive is a terrible product that breaks easily.
Even when this Samsung drive does work, it is very slow at
reading discs and its light blinks for a while.

This DVD-Burner arrived with a busted set of
ball-bearings for the DVD spinner – in other words,
it was completely non-functional!
The packaging was undamaged, unopened, and was
shipped directly through Amazon.com, making it highly
unlikely that this was the result of shipping or
handling.
When calling Samsung, they told me this could happen,
but after buying more than 50 DVD/CD Burners in my
life, this is a first for me. Needless to say, this
is the last time I would buy any optical drive from
Samsung again.
Not recommended!
