So I bought this hoping to not have to shell out the higher price for the new Ipod nano along with all the necessary new chargers that are required – Apple doesnt tell you that you need new auto chargers, etc.
Liked the looks, size, weight – only problem it didnt work. Charged it overnight, converted my songs to mp3, then tried to load the songs. Didn’t work. Tried different cords, different usb ports, different computers.
Took it back.

I read all the positive reviews and thought that this was the player for me, but it was an absolute nightmare. I plugged it in for the initial synchronization and waited. And waited. And waited. Two hours later, it was still synching. No progress was indicated on the status bar, so I looked for a problem and saw that all it had done so far was a 2% sync on one song. After two hours! I deleted this song, reset everything, and tried again. After an hour, the synchronization was still in progress but all of the 750+ songs in the library were still at 0%. Tech support was a huge waste of time, so I gave up and sent it back.
Bottom line: I wasted almost an entire Saturday trying to get this thing to work, but I never even got to listen to one song. Unless you enjoy hours of fruitless troubleshooting, I would suggest you try something else.

Great sound, radio works well also. The only very minor problem would be the rather long time it takes to sync 8gb with Windows Media Player as compared with the rapid syncing of my 4gb Ipod shuffle 3G and 8gb Ipod touch 2G with iTunes.

Plenty of storage capacity, small size, color, and average review rating on Amazon compared to other players lead me to buy this for my wife. We immediately tried to copy a CD to it by dragging and dropping. It was quite simple and did not require any additional software. Good start.
She then plugged in the earbuds which came with the unit and turned it on. She smiled as the music hit her ears. So it worked…good sign. I then listened to it, but didn’t smile as much. To me, sound is the most important factor. The sound was not as robust as my mp3, which is bigger, heavier, and has less storage. I switched the earbuds that came with the unit with my earbuds (about $40-50). Definitely a better sound than the earbuds that come with the player. I then tinkered with the equalizer, and improved a litte bit more. The sound quality was best at a volume that was higher than my wife prefers to listen, so if you tend to listen at a low volume, you may not get the performance you want out of this little guy.
So, in short, you will probably want to get a nice set of earbuds that stay in your ears and have a wider frequency range. Adjusting the equalizer to your taste can improve the sound a little bit more. Overall, the sound really is pretty good for such a tiny piece of plastic. Menus and such are not as important to me, so I would suggest checking other reviews for those features if they are important to you. In closing, don’t forget to get a skin and plug package for the unit.

I ADORE this player! I’ve had an Ipod for years and all it ever did was mess up or I had to fix/reinstall/reset Itunes ALL the time which gets old. This you don’t even need any of that stuff, all you do it put in the folder that says music. How easy is that? Plus I get a lot more space on this then I did my other one. Not to mention an Ipod can’t record, play the radio either so those are real pluses there in my book. Plus it’s less noticeable then having a big device (shuffle not worth it) that’s ackward looking and caring is a pain. This is small and fits in my purse, pocket, etc. VERY pleased with it and it’s made by Sony (it’s the generic version of Sony) so it’s really not a generic brand.
