I decided to buy this based on mostly positive reviews. When I got it and tried to load the drivers, certificates etc… I got nothing. Not even the light on the front worked. After a lot of time spent trying to get it to work, I found that my particular P/N: 904054 rev 1.0, is not compatible with VISTA. Unfortunately I didn’t buy it directly from AMAZON so I can’t return it. And, of course, the guy who sold it “AARON RADEZ” is a shady-seller so I can’t get in touch with him. Anyway, be careful to get the P/N and REV# and make sure it’s compatible with your OS. I’m sure this is a good reader when it works but I’m stuck with a $22 desk ornament until I can sell it on Craigslist or something. Also, avoid the AMAZON seller AARON RADEZ.

I am running this on my desktop with Windows 7 64-bit installed. Windows found the right drivers automatically upon connecting it. I am using this item with ActiveClient 6.2 software to log into websites for work. Easy to set up and easy to use. I recommend this product.

Will not install on my XP SP2 machines…you can load the drivers all day long, from different sources, whatever…but it still won’t detect the card. The company website is a shell with no way to contact them and full of dead links. They just scammed to government into buying millions of these things.
I took mine out in the garage and destroyed it with a sledgehammer. Violently, repeatedly, and with predjudice. The satisfaction of turning this device into silicon and plastic particles was the only intrinsic value it had.
