I have an older 750gb Seagate “Pro” hard drive. I like the enclosure better on the new Xtreme drive, because the base of the older one was fixed, and the base of the new one is set up to be removed so the hard drive can be mounted vertically OR horizontally. The finish on the new drive seems cheaper, however, though it makes for lighter weight.
As is always the case for Seagate drives, I have no issues with this one. I’m happy they finally have a 2tb drive available, and with E-sata and firewire options, you can use it in almost any application.
I’ll continue to buy Seagate.
