Bought for a friend in Haiti who advises that it works fine and he is very happy with it.

Light on but no longer detected/recognized by Vista after a few months use… Junk pure and simple.

There are some problems keeping the drive connected to the computer. It often has to be unplugged and plugged back in for the computer to recognize the drive.

Sometimes My Computer will recognize the drive; most times it will not. Before purchasing it is recommended that you check the online message boards for Simpletech Simpledrive Troubleshooting in any size or memory capacity. Most problems involve laptops/desktops not recognizing the drive even though installation has been done properly. Do your research before you commit both money and time to a device that will save your precious pictures, music, videos and documents but will not allow you to access them in the future.

Be aware that as of Jan. 28, 2009, Turbo USB 2.0 is NOT available for Macs. Hopefully, this will change soon, but I did not notice any reference to this when I bought the drive two days ago.
