Look this won’t put out the quality sound that a Soundock, Zepp, HK Go + Play or Geneva Model S will but for the size it is great! I just throw the very small Skullcandy (with adaptor) and my nano into my Tom Bihn Cafe Bag and my music follows me where ever I go. Yes, it uses batteries but sounds better plugged in. Also the bass is a little better if it is placed closer to a wall. I have heard so many small docks that just suck and I was not expecting that much from this little pipe. I took it out, plugged it in to the wall, plugged in my older nano and then….WOW! Of course, due to its size, it lacks a real heavy bass but the sound is well balanced, the pipe is very portable and I highly recommend it.
Update: Forgot to mention the Remote…better than any Bose has ever put out. Really easy to use but you have to be pretty close to the unit. That’s all!

This was our first docking station, and I was looking for something that sounded good and looked great, too. I didn’t want anything tacky and large, since I’m funny about the way things look. I bought this dock for my sons, who have basic iPod Shuffles. Although they cannot charge them on this unit, there is none, according to Apple, that both charges and plays for the basic Shuffle; perhaps Apple will work on that next. Anyway, we’ve found it was a good purchase, because my boys can still play their music, by plugging it in, and I can charge and play my iPhone 3Gs; this was an added bonus, since I had read online that the iPhone was incompatible. Now, there is an error message that pops up, when I dock my iPhone, but you simply click “ignore” and use it anyway. (NOTE: I was given that advice by the manufacturer, and it has proven to be OK) The pipe charges and plays wonderfully, and the remote is very handy, though it can’t be used at great distances. And, yes, the remote works when my phone is docked! : ) We’re very pleased.
