I have this camcorder for just over three weeks and to date very good performance with minor issues.

1. Proper lighting - excellent picture quality.
2. Poor lighting - example "evening" I use the sunset setting with pretty good picture quality.
3. Definitely the motion sensor could be better.

Last time I buy sony handycam. This only ports to microsoft windows using provided software and not portable to other formats. Even worse only still photos using memory stick will transfer to Mac. So don't do as I did and record your entire ski vacation to find out you can not transfer to a MAC and use with Final Cut Pro.

Update; Turns out this little handy cam will transfer to final cut pro on the mac. So I increased the Rating to 4 start. There may be other ways to transfer. I opened iMovie first. Then connected handycam to computer. Another window popped up to port photos so i closed this window and kept imovies opened. Then imported to Imovies. After transfer complete it is easy task to drag and drop clips from iMovie to Final Cut Pro.

Very nice camcorder. Any video or picture with plenty of light will look incredible. The only down side of it is that anything at night or with poor light the images will be dark. Once again with plenty of light the pictures looks great.

I cannot believe Sony will make a $575/ product with no built in flash and with no place for flash attachment. Also, there is no view finder-in an effort to save battery life by not using LCD monitor.

Within 24 hours of buying, I had to return the product.
