Ive had this computer for about a month now and have been very satisfied. This vaio has a full sized keyboard which mimics mac-like keys and is comfortable to type on. The laptop is fairly light and easy to travel with. It has a great screen which is also very thin and the overall laptop is beautifully designed and feels solid. Windows 7 runs great on this computer and provides a new windows experience to users who may be bored with XP or fed up with Vista. The wireless card installed is fantastic! People sitting right next to me cant get the internet I get sometimes in lecture halls. The laptop is very fast at running basic software like word, firefox, itunes (syncs devices really fast for a change). Also the laptop does not get hot even if I am typing for hours on it which is fantastic for a laptop.
The fingerprint reader is a nice gadget to add on for using as a logon password or application password but I wont be using it much. Also the vaio mode switching is a cute feature but once again not something I can say is extremely useful. The camera is of poor quality but is good enough for video chatting and monitoring who is walking around your laptop if you leave it unattended. Laptop comes with lots of sony bloatware, but what sony product doesnt and this software can just be deleted if you dont want it. Also laptop only has 2 usb ports which is annoying (but sufficient with a usb splitter) and the battery only lasts 3 hours when fully charged (so plan on carrying the charger with you most places).
Overall, if you are willing to pay for a vaio and you want a laptop which is a comfortable mobile desktop computer this may be the right laptop for you! It has hardware and features like a 17inch media center laptop but comes neatly in 13.3inches instead (P.S. this size is like macbooks so there are tons of laptop accessories/cases available) I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone (as long as you dont order through [...])

I recv’d it about 2 weeks ago from J&R..good service from them..on the machine…I really like it. Speed is good..so far it seems to be the right size and has a great monitor. 1 thing I would’ve added is backlit keyboard, but maybe that would drain the battery too much. Good size keys and good weight. So far happy with it. And I like Windows 7 a lot too!
