I would never buy another Sony product. The computer doesn’t recognize that there is a battery and will not recharge the battery. Sony’s customer service will not even send me a new battery instead they have me spend hours trouble shooting with no results. They did the same thing with a camera that I purchased. There are better companies out there trust me.

I purchased this laptop from Amazon on Nov 20, 2009. It reached me on Dec 1, 2009.
The spec on the laptop told me that it has 4g memory and 320G hardrive…when I received the laptop
the first thing I did was to check the hard drive, well, it says that I only have 269 free space of 290G.
What I want to know is where is my extra 30G?
Secondly, I don’t if it’s the windows 7 that’s doing it, but this laptop has a mind of it’s own. It keeps opening programs for me that I don’t even click on. I can’t browse any application without it opening without my command.

Purchased new Oct. 2009
This was a Birthday present for my wife who has an old (in computer time) Dell desktop running XP – slow but satisfactory. Research began with a Toshiba Netbook which she liked but not as a primary computer – small screen, no optical drive. We then moved to Best Buy where she looked and tried a broad range of Laptops- settling on this Sony and a Toshiba (she had a Toshiba laptop 10 years ago). Back home we researched both with help from Amazon’s wide selection. The next morning she said did you order the Sony from Amazon? Yes, and Amazon did their part – swiftly.
She is pleased with her choice, likes the feel of the keyboard, appearance of the screen and the 64 bit version of Windows 7, and, of course, the speed. The file migration is just beginning so I’m sure she will find many other features to praise. For myself, a refugee from MS, it feels like a MacBook!
