Almost faultless
Excellent piece of kit, love the easy drag and drop with no additional software needed to get in the way. Albums can be tagged etc no problem with media monkey freeware.

Don’t buy an MP3 player until you’ve considered this little gem from Sony! Sound quality is better, much better, than on the IPod. Integration with WMP11 and Windows is good. Apparently it works with iTunes as well for those that use it, but I haven’t tried that. Video transfers easily and looks surprisingly good – colours are rich, picture is sharp and motion is clear. I was sceptical about the SenseMe feature (the player analyzes the music and categorises into channels such as classical, upbeat, lounge etc). I thought, yeah, right, but was pleasantly surprised at the job it does. There are some odd decisions it makes, but on the whole this is a useful feature. Now I listen to one of the channels depending on what mood I’m in. This is an improvement on shuffle as I am less likely to want to skip over tracks that don’t match my mood. I am delighted with this player.

Put your iPod away, this little gadget is simply unbelievable and a bargain. Here are my thoughts: It is TINY. Wafer thin, light. . you’ll hardly know it is there. But great build quality. It has a slick brushed aluminium case but with a plastic edge to guard against knocks. Well thought out and so practical. The sound quality is SENSATIONAL and the best I have heard on a player this size. Vastly superior to all Apple’s offerings even with the suppplied (surprisingly excellent) earphones and for a cloth ears like me. It is so easy to use!! Intuitive. Logical. Can you use a mobile phone? Then you can use the features on this within minutes. Forget jog wheels (so early noughties!!) and navigate all your songs and videos with ease. Video is crystal clear although lets face it, you’ll struggle with a movie on a screen this size. However, orientate the video horizontally and start downloading BBC TV programmes from iplayer. Transferring content fom your computer is childs play with drag and drop using media player 11 (supplied). Fantastic radio. Great for pictures. I could go on but then you’d get bored. Suffice to say this is a wonderful little machine which knocks it rivals for six. Buy it, music lover, and stand out from the crowd!!

This purchase was a direct replacement for a previous Sony MP3 that I had owned for 5 years and had been very pleased with. However, within minutes this machine had won me over and then some. First off the player is tiny and therefore ideal for those long trips especially on the train where you do not want a bulky machine. Secondly, the sound quality is far superior to the Ipod equivalent IMO and the machine is a joy to use (I found it similar to a Nokia phone in many respects. Many people, me included, had hated the old Sonic Stage software but the drag & drop now used is quickly learnt & easy to use. The only minus points are that the earphones are a horrible fit and the screen is far too small for anything other than the occassional short view. In summary, I consider this to be the market leader if you can get past the design which is the only area that the ipod still trumps the Sony.

Walkman
When I decided to get a better MP3 player, I spent ages trying to decide whether to get an Ipod or a Walkman and reading loads and loads of reviews.

Yet another excellent Sony product
I received my walkman as a birthday gift. It appears so far to do well all I require of it. It remains to be seen how it deals with complete symphonies!

Tops marks
My partner needed a new MP3 player which could hold a lot of classical music for preparation and rehearsals for concerts.

Not bad shame about the Media Manager
I bought this to replace my old 2 gig flash player(also a Sony) because I wanted something that would hold my whole music collection.
