I have had my speck case for my iphone for only one month, and it now cracked along the charger portion. The case also does not come off easily, which likely led to the cracking issue. The gummy rubber of the case attracts lint and does not look good after the first few weeks. I like to plug my iphone into a Bose speaker set at home, and a regular Aux in/out input does not fit with the case on the phone. I have to remove the case to use the Aux in/out connector.

I have try many iPhone 3gs cases, Switcheasy Neo, Switcheasy Rebel, Incase Slider, and this is by far is the best case I used.

I, as many others have indicated also, spent a lot of time looking for the right case. This quest mostly boils down to personal taste. I wanted a case that was well made, felt good in my hand, protected the iPhone, didn’t add a lot of bulk to the phone and would not detract from the natural look of my 3GS. The CandyShell by Speck Products fit that criteria perfectly. It is easy to install and remove the iPhone from the shell, it performs exactly as advertised and it fit all of my criteria.
I only rated the product 4 stars because, I have only had the product for a week and there is one very minor problem. As mentioned in other reviews, the switch Ring/Silent on the iPhone is tough to turn on while it is in the shell. A minor problem that is easily overcome by using a finger rather than a thumb. It is easy to get it up, ooh can I say that? Let me rephrase, it is easy to turn it of, it’s putting it in the on mode, by pushing the button down/away from you that is the problem. Otherwise it would have been a 5 star review.
Besides reading the reviews here you might consider going to the Speck Products web site and watch the video reviews and how to’s. It was very informative.
I purchased this product from TigerDirect through Amazon. It was delivered on time and in perfect condition.
I highly recommend that you consider purchasing this product.

I got this case for my wife and was disappointed when the volume control buttons were too tight and pressed “down” constantly. I called Speck’s phone number and got a person immediately. They were very helpful and walked me through loosening up that area so the case would work. They offered to honor the 1 year guarantee if it didn’t work. Very impressive.
The case feels great in your hand and provides excellent protection. I haven’t had it long enough to comment on durability, but so far I am very pleased. I may buy one for myself too.

I’ve owned this case for about 6 months now and it has held up ok. Originally, it was easy to get on and still fits snug on the phone. I keep my iPhone in my pocket a lot so as expected the black candy shell case has lot of little scratches now. But it’s definitely better that the case is scratched up rather than the phone itself. The bottom lip of the case that goes around the speakers and wire port has also split in half. It’s probably from repeatedly taking my phone in and out of my pocket. This is the thinnest part of the case so it’s no surprise that it is the first to break. Even with the split, the case is still usable and adequate. I just pop the two halves back in place when they become undone. The case also came with a screen protector and cleaning cloth. The screen protector serves it’s purpose but keeping dirt/lint off of it while trying to put it on is nearly impossible. I still use it even though there are a few bubbles that won’t come out due to specks of dirt being trapped underneath. One thing that I wish this case had was more of a tacky surface on the back so that it will not slide so easily on polished surfaces. The console in my car is slippery so the phone will fly off if I don’t have it tethered to the car charger when I make turns. I like the polished look of the case but maybe if they could incorporate a small tacky area that would be enough to do what I need. For example, if they made the rubber asterisk design on the back larger that would meet my needs. For now, I turn the phone over and lay it on the front side where the rubber protrudes.
