I needed something to protect my Macbook Pro and thinking this would be a great solution. So i ordered this item from AntOnline. When i received the product, it seemed alright. But when i installed it, the bottom part is somewhat warped that it would not snap into place. There were also some excess plastic on the edges that could potentially scratch the laptop so overall the quality was pretty bad. Speck did a poor job in producing it. So I asked for a refund. It turns that out that they do not reimburse you for shipping. Cheapest shipping cost is 10$ with tracking. So basically i’m out of $10 for a product that i do not have. I’m skipping this Speck hard shell case since you won’t know the type of quality you’ll get and also for this supplier for not reimbursing you for shipping.

I love this thing. For the first month of owning my new MacBook Pro I was extremely careful. I read a lot of reviews of this product and I didn’t think this product was going to be as good as it is, so I hesitated. I knew I needed something and I eventually went ahead. Once I got it, I put it on in a few minutes (note, read how to install it, the word “speck” should be in the bottom left when looking at the glowing Apple). The case stayed (and is staying) on like a champ. It is as if it was made to go with my MacBook. It feels good too.
Downside: It does add a little weight to the screen, so when you close the laptop becareful not to slam it down.
I am very glad I got this case though.

Like most, I wanted to protect my laptop from daily wear and tear. Although I feel somewhat bad having to cover this baby up, the Speck satin shell case covers it well while allowing access to connections. The case is sturdy and the soft satin feel isn’t slick at all – it holds up well in your hands while carrying it. In my opinion, the black case only enhances this already stylish laptop. Saving a couple of bucks through Amazon makes this a must buy!

I really love this. It’s the exact same thing that can be found in a Mac store, but a lot cheaper. It protects my computer from scratches, and is very compact. I would definitely buy it again, and recommend it to friends.

I decided not to listen to everyone else’s reviews about this product concerning the weight of the case putting stress on the display. This Speck case is extremely easy to install, is form-fitting to the body of the computer, and is stylish. HOWEVER, the reviews about the weight are true. Speck designers need to consider making the plastic of a lighter weight, because it does indeed add significant weight to the laptop, and does make the screen bend. Overall, 4 stars.
