“Swiffers” didn’t exist just a few years ago, yet somehow we’ve kept our floors clean throughout the ages. This is just marketing garbage designed to hook you into a relatively cheap handle with overly expensive refills. No wonder P&G bought Gillette a few years back. They are big fans of raking their customers over the coals. Same thing there. Get a 20 year old safety razor and pay 20 cents for a refill rather than their exorbitant $3-$4 per cartridge.

What a piece of crap. I couldn’t even get my 40-square-foot “kitchen” clean on one pad. All it does is wet whatever dirt you have on your floor, and then move it around. The pads pick up next to nothing. Worthless.

This product is a good to initiate the mopping novice but for the real professional reading this review you’re going to want to remove most of your flooring in the kitchen and replace it with a mesh net and sturdy bracings. You will then place a removable tarp underneath the netting to catch everything you spill in the kitchen that sifts through the mesh, from cod batter mix, silica, phosphorus, anything you may be cooking with. It’s an unusual method, but you’ll find your floorspace much cleaner. And the tarp can be wrapped up without spilling it all over your basement. I like my basement clean because I have a vintage white rotary dial telephone collection there, one of North America’s foremost collections.
So this Swiffer, while it does remove some dirt, is by far one of the lesser methods.

I bought this because I’m pregnant and looking for an easier solution to doing my floors. I thought I’d try swiffer and thought this sounded good. Unfortuanately, the chemcal solution smells so bad that it contaminated the entire box, extra pads and all and wasn’t even open. The bottle is not the kind you can open, empty and refill with your own stuff and you can’t fit another bottle into the holder. They really designed this to get the most amount of money out of you…you HAVE to use their products unless you want to do a lot of work to rig it up which I did not find it was worth. I only had this in my house a short time (20 minutes) and it took me hours to get that smell out of the house! …and I didn’t even open the bottle or break the seal. This went straight to the dump. I wouldn’t inflict those strong, highly unnecessary chemicals on anyone! At least they could have made it so we could use our own cleaning solutions.

This review does not allow for zero stars, which is what the product deserves.
The pole, which is supposed to stay together once it’s assembled, kept coming apart. Until, of course, I decided to return it and now two of the three pieces will not separate so I have to decide if I want to pay for extra packing for the two-thirds handle.
The switch to start the spray is intermittent.
The pads are a mystery to me, as only the edges seem to pick up anything.
