The cleaning pads leave a sticky residue on my wood floors. Looks smeary.
The old ones were better.

Like I said in the title… “Fine for a touchup but nothing like a mop and bucket.”

SWIFFER IS A GREAT PRODUCT FOR ME..BEING SOMEWHAT DISABLED IT IS QUITE CONVENIENT NOT HAVING TO LUG A PAIL AND MOP. GREAT PRICE.

I have a cleaning lady come once per month, so I let her do the heavy cleaning, but in between visits, I’ve decided to let Swiffer keep my floors clean. On the kitchen vinyl floors, it just doesn’t get everything–you rely on adhesiveness. It’s an inherently flawed system, but that’s okay. It gets 80% of it, and that’s fine until I can get the cleaning lady here. It’s not the greatest way to clean your floors, but it’ll do.

I first tried Swiffer wet jet about 6 months ago and ever since I’ve been hooked. The Swiffer Wet Jet works really well for picking up dirt and cleaning up spills.
- Dirt & Dust
The microfiber cleaning surface readily picks up dirt and dust.
- Spills
I once had an absolutely catastrophic spill in my bathroom that I had to clean up with my Swiffer Wet Jet and I was surprised how much water the Swiffer soaked up. Don’t underestimate these plain-looking pads – locked inside the pads is are tiny polymer beads that, when wet, turn gelatinous and expand to many times their original size. These pads can soak up more water than you might think!
The sticky, smeary residue that someone mentioned is the gelatinous substance from a ruptured cleaning pad. Under normal circumstances, the Swiffer WebJet Cleaning Pads should not leave a residue on your floor.
- Swiffer WetJet Cleaning Pads vs. Tradition Mop & Bucket
The Swiffer WetJet doesn’t have to displace the ol’ mop and bucket – You can use it as a secondary mop for a quick cleanup around the house. It also comes in handy for quickly cleaning up an unexpected mess like a spill.

Whether it’s dirt, or dust, or spills, the Swiffer can help you clean up a mess lickety split. The replacement pads aren’t prohibitively expensive and they last a long time.
