I have had this TV for 3 weeks now and it quit working all together today,It had a loud annoying hissing noise coming from the speakers ,You had to turn the volume up to 20 just to drown out the noise ,The picture was excellent, easy to set up and a little difficult to find the code for my cable box remote,So I gave 2 stars for poor sound, hissing and finally died !!!!There are better TVs out there ,Look before you buy JMO

We have only had this tv for a week and already love it !! We have been looking around for a bigger and better tv for awhile now. This one has features unavailble on some other the other brands and was comparable in price.

This is such an awesome unit! I’ve watched more television this past week than probably in a whole year! What a totally different experience — the clarity of the picture is outstanding. Easy set up, nice design. Completely satisified!

We bought this Tv 12/08 from BJ’S Wholesale. Got a good price, but you get what you pay for. TV was easy to set up but we noticed a hum immediately when watching it. We were unable to return it as it was over 30 days. We contacted Sylvania’s tech support who gave us a # for A TV repair shop. They came and took our TV and ended up having it for over 1 month. The shop kept calling Sylvania about the part and were told it’s coming. So… after one month we get our TV back, and GUESS WHAT we still have the “hum”. This time we did not let the TV repair shop take the TV they ordered the part and will install it when it comes. So that was in March 2009 and guess what, we still don’t have the part. Phillips/Sylvania told the TV repair shop it is “estimated” to be delivered on 8/28/09!!! Can you imagine. Needless to say we have been on the phone with Sylvania non-stop about this. We actually only get to speak to tech support. If you ask for Customer Relations they say we cannot give a name or # for them. They “will call you.” I said I have been waiting for 2 months for a call and would like a number to contact them myself and was told “well that’s not going to happen.” Needless to say I will NEVER purchase another Sylvania product and would love to throw this one out the window.

I bought this TV back in December 2007. The picture is nice and clear. The TV does not have many other features, though. If you are one that likes to customize all of your settings, this is not for you.
A couple months after owning it, I started to notice a high, whirring sound coming from the set when it was off. After a couple more months, I finally contacted support. They were a bit difficult to deal with (it took several phone calls), but they did offer to service the set. The parts were free, but I did have to pay $70 for labor.
The process for sending the TV back went smoothly. I received the TV back a couple weeks later. It sounded good for a week and then that sound came back. At this point I gave up trying to fix it. I just turn off the power strip now when I am done watching.
