I owned a similar T-Fal in the past and only had good memories of it. But I mostly did the occasional bagel. We bought this one and the family has been nothing but disappointed. Uneven toasting of bread and my daughter must trim her potato bread slices so they fit. She also pointed out how not all the heating elements even kick on. It’s real easy to burn one corner of the frozen waffle while not browning the opposite corner.
This toaster goes to Good Will as soon as I have time.

The “cool touch exterior” is very hot. The bagel and reheat buttons only function on two slots. The instructions say you can push a defrost button, but it does not exist. The upper edge of the toast is darker than the rest. You could look in and see that the heating wires were not turning red uniformly sure enough the toasting was uneven. We bought a different toaster that did all of this well for half the price. Returned this one.

I’m not sure if mine was defective since the description states that it is a cool to touch toaster, but I was so excited to get my toaster until.. My toaster must sit on the counter and the cord goes up the backside to the wall socket. The instructions state to run two cycles empty first to burn off the new smell. After the second cycle I felt the back of the toaster and was almost burnt! The sides were very hot as well! I am returning mine; and worry about people with small children or the elderly possibly getting hurt with this toaster, as well as concerned the cord may have melted do to the heat.

toast fast, love the way you can see in the slots with out tiptoeing – so do the kids. the lever that pops out the shorter slices of bread it a great idea too. someone was thinking when they designed this toaster!

I am very satisfied with the t-fal toaster. It looks great in the kitchen and has a great feature. You can pop the toast up with a push of the button instead of forcing the lever up. It has a special toasting proceedure for bagels, just toasting on one side. I am enjoying it daily.
