Product Description
Released in 1987, the A500 proved to be Commodore’s best-selling Amiga model, enjoying particular success in Europe. Popular with hobbyists, its graphics and sound were advanced for the time. The floppy controller is unusually flexible. In addition to the native 880 KB 3.5-inch disk format, the controller can handle many foreign formats, such as IBM PC, Apple II, Mac, Commodore 1541, Commodore 1581 (Commodore 64 and 128). The hardware expansion is plug and play. Arguably its most widespread use was as a gaming machine. This is one of the classics any computer collector should have.
