GOOD LOOKS: The chill mat looks pretty good from outside. And is pretty light weight as well…but that’s because it’s all cheap plastic…and it’s the neoprene material that gives this chill mat “the stylized look”.
POOR PERFORMANCE: It’s just not upto the mark…the fan speeds are way too slow and it’s not enough to cool down my laptop…on the contrary the temperature started to rise and for the first time the HDD temp rose to 105F and generally it is around 90-95F. The CPU temp was also way above the normal levels, around 140F-150F…instead of the normal 110-120F. This is mainly because there is no ventilation between the bottom laptop cover and the surfacce of the chill mat. So there is no way for the heat to escape. To make matters worse, the left fan would often stop working…and this was just after a few hrs I opened the product. I’ve already sent this back to Amazon to claim a full refund.
NOT STURDY: The laptop sometimes seems to slide over the chill mat. The rubber stops fail to hold the laptop in place.
OVERALL REVIEW: In my opinion…it’s an absolute “no no” to anyone who looks forward to buying this product. I wish I could give a half star rating to this product. I would advise to buy the Antec Notebook Cooler or the Targus Chill Mat XC or Chill Hub XC (though the USB ports on this one are just of no use….they don’t work).

Targus Lap Chill Mat works very well with our lap top. Very quiet running and computer does run cooler than before we purchased this product. The only draw back is the rubber stops on the mat that keeps the lap top from sliding comes off evey now and then and we need to put back onto the mat when we discover it missing. Just be carefull not to lose them.

It’s ok. Quiet and keeps the laptop cool. USB cord has plenty of line. Like the slanted angle, better for typing and viewing angle. Biggest drawback is the little rubber feet all the time, small, annoying and no extras included.
