Prepare to spend many many many fun-filled and amazing hours at your computer after purchasing this product. If you’re getting it for your children, prepare not to see them till they’re in their early 20’s.
This game is addicting and extremely fun. Everytime you turn it on its a new world to explore and change. Not to mention the fact that this version of the Sims 2 comes with an expansion pack AND stuff pack for the price of the original game alone! Its a great deal that anybody who doesn’t own the Sims 2 should not pass by!

Okay, I usually don’t do reviews but I had to do one for this game. It’s simply amazing. Three games for the price of one is enough to make this a worth while purchase but the game play just puts it over the top! I’ve heard about the Sims for awhile now but it just didn’t interest me at the time. Then I purchased the game for my PSP and I liked it enough to purchase it for the PC.
And I was blown away.
To me it’s WAY better on the PC and the game is more engrossing. I just can’t pull away from it and most days I’m playing it well into the morning. To anyone who’s never played you don’t know what you’re missing. Don’t believe the hype? Purchse the game and you’ll be a believer.

I ordered this for my daughters. Our oldest (12) has been playing it at a friends house and has been asking for her own copy for a couple of months. It is easy to set up, the graphics are very nice, and the game play is virtually limitless. *Warning* your kids will get sucked into it and lose countless hours glued to the computer. We have enforced time limits for our kids. Also, part of the game play does involve the characters having sex. It seems that’s the only aspect of the game that my 12 year old daughter is interested in. As a father, you can probably understand that this doesn’t entirely sit well with me. Fortunately, we have an open relationship with our children, we have discussed real life sex well before the Sims ever came into our household, and we do have great children. When our 8 year old is playing with her older sister, the Sims go shopping, or redecorate, or go to work…and only go to bed to sleep. It is a fun game to play, and it does help to teach kids about adult responsibilities.
It takes up/uses a lot of RAM – which can often cause the game or even the computer itself to freeze up — so, save your progress and save it often

I loved this game until I found out it was the reason my computer is now having issues. During installation it installs a hidden program called SecuROM (a bad excuse for copy-protection) which will cause numerous conflicts in your computer. My antivirus software now randomly shuts off and I’ve had numerous other issues.
I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ELECTRONIC ARTS GAME FOR MY COMPUTER!

Prior to installing The Sims2 Double Deluxe I was playing newer games with higher requirements. None had issues. My primary DVD drive was reading/working perfectly. My secondary DVD drive was writing/working perfectly.
I got to play a little bit of Sims2 Double Deluxe before full disaster but I had to turn all video settings down, wait for painfully long loading screens, and endure crashes and/or lock-ups that would not clear without powering down.
The Body Shop portion of the game never opened for me. None of the EA suggested fixes worked. I loved the original Sims and from what I saw of “Double Deluxe” it appeared to be a 4 star game, but I could not launch it at all in my primary drive or continue to use it on my secondary drive.
I read the EA forums, googled my error messages, and read some of your reviews before I realized SecuROM was to blame. The SecuROM customer service did respond to my email and has continued to try and help; but, sadly, their suggested fixes only added new problems.
I went from not being able to play this one game, to not being able to read ANY DVD on my primary DVD drive and not being able to write on my secondary drive.
I believe there are versions of this game that work fine but I will not take that chance. My next steps will be to; try and uninstall SecuROM, try to reinstall both DVD drives, and throw away the game.
