Does anyone know how this grey version Series 2 differs from the older black version Series 2?

We’ve had it for one day. ONE DAY. And it goes back tomorrow.
The DVR from our local cable company was fair at best. It broke 6mos into having it….so we got TiVO. TiVo seems worse.
Set up was easy enough – but oy – the delays in your normal channel changing is incredibly slow (slower than the cable DVR -which, I thought, was significant). The up/down function is slightly better than pressing in the channel number (seriously -you wait 15 seconds for it to change). Sometimes you cannot even get OFF a channel as you attempt to flip – like I want to be stuck in QVC for an eternity!
Watching one program while taping another requires splitting cables. No delay in channel surfing requires a SECOND cable box.
I have no patience for this crap. The technology should be there…especially at the price for which they gouge you.
A standard VCR (or the cable DVR)is better than this product. Other reviews have told of TiVos horrible customer service – and time (tomorrow!) will tell how on-the-mark they are.

I WOULDNT WISH THE TIVO ON MY WORST ENEMY. A PAIN TO HOOK TO A PHONE. TO INTRICATELY CONNECTED TO YOUR OTHER RESOURCES TO EVEN TRY. I SUGGEST BUYING A DVR FROM YOUR CABLE SUPPLIER. ITS LIKE BREATHING, TIVO IS LIKE DROWING.

The system is good for pausing live TV, but that’s about it! The other functions are limited and you can’t record one channel and watch another at the sametime.
Don’t spend your money on one of these things until they come with a second TV tuner.

We bought the Tivo for the tuner use only and if you do this without the service you get some pretty annoying nag screens.
Cool product but but for our use not really ideal.
Cheers
Dan
