Drive stopped working after a couple of months. Even though it sat on my office desk as a backup drive (I never carried it around with my laptop, never exposed it to impact shocks or temperature changes) it just stopped working.
Transcend didn’t have any service centers “in my region” and they referred me to a retailer for service BUT I had to pay for the shipping to and from, and also be subject to service charges from the retailer. In other words, I had to pay to get it fixed. No deal for such a cheap (in every possible context) drive.
My advice: DO NOT buy. In fact do not buy ANY Transcend product ’cause if it breaks down, you’ll be stuck with it.

This product is very good. Compact and durable. The only thing I found a bit wierd is that it takes 2 USB ports to work, but other than that, its a excellent product. I would definitely recommend this

This drive is perfect for what I needed it for. It has plenty of space, and will last me a long time. It is well constructed, the rubber grip on the outside makes it easy to hold on to. The transfer speed is excellent it only took me 15-20 minutes to backup a 6.5 gb music library. This drive ran perfectly fine on my compaq laptop, it did not need an second power source. It also comes with some software which I never looked at. The one thing that i would have liked to have known before I bought it was that it actually has a 230gb hard drive enclosed, it would have been nice if they just labeled it as a 230gb HDD. Even knowing that I would still order it again.
