Are you looking for great KVM without spending a whole lot? This is the one for you!

I set this up on an old PC and a laptop. It worked OK.
Then I decided I would like to use it with my iMac serving the monitor function. (I have a monitor adapter.) Well, I couldn’t get the KVM switch to work although it is supposed to work with an iMac. I am running winxp and snow leopard on the imac.
So I went to [...]. This version of the KVM switch was not listed on the website. Great. Registered. Tried to fill in a help desk ticket so I could get written instructions on how to do it. However, I could not complete the request for help because the webpage wanted additional personal information, but it would not let me type the information it wanted into the web form. Therefore it would not let me ask for help. Great.
I’ll have to call tomorrow but this does not bode well for customer support. I am not up to a long phone session tonight.
I am fast losing confidence in Trendnet.

I was excited when I received the unit and thought it was great that it included cables, however I had to return the unit. It would never recognize my keybooard on just the first PC. I tried it on 2 PC,s and technical support had no suggestions, other than it should work plug-and-play. I’m still looking for a replacement.

Beware that your Keyboard and Mice may not work if they are wireless (see issue 2)!!!!
This is a decent KVM. The switching time for me is about 3-5 secs which isn’t so bad. Also, the price is significantly lower than anything else.
I have 2 issues, though.
1) The cables are a nightmare. As other folks have pointed out, they come out from all sides, so if you have more than 2 computers, it is sort of monster to keep on your desk.
2) My Wireless Keyboard and Mouse intermittently stop working. I’m using a Logitech Cordless MX3000 Desktop. Everytime I switch on Windows, I get a message saying one of the USB devices has malfunctioned, but they still worked. About a week in, I started having problems with them not working. I would unplug everything for a while, then it would start working when I plugged it back up. I have another Logitech Performance Laser travel mouse that doesn’t work at all ever.
I called Trendnet. The service was fast and the lady was nice, but she told me they do not guarantee that Wireless USB Keyboard and Mice work. This is not on any of the packaging. If you have one, you might want to reconsider buying this.

Initially I was disappointed with this item because each computer recognised it as a new USB device everytime I switched between computers. This stopped, or I got desensitized, after a week.
At the start of the fourth week of use, I turned off the computer for about an hour. On turning it back on, the screen began flickering. Further investigation revealed that the KVM switch had stopped working.
This is the worst Trendnet device I have ever purchased, and I have purchased quite a bit.
