See the attached photo of the “hook-up diagram” furnished with this unit (image attached). I’m surprised that nobody seems to use cordless phones, because this item will work ONLY with the old fashioned corded type phones, using the handset jack, not the modular wall phone plug. I don’t even own a corded phone anymore and rarely see them for sale, so unfortunately this gadget is useless to me. It would be very helpful to prospective buyers to first look at the “hook-up diagram” furnished with this item. I’m attaching an image for those cordless phone owners who are interested in recording their calls calls.

I picked up one of these at the local Radio Shack. It helped me to get hard evidence that my boyfriend was having an affair. The sound recording isn’t perfect, but it’s good enough to tell when is going on. I looked at several phone recording solutions and this was the least expensive. You will need something to record with though, such as a cassette or a digital recorder. I used a dictation machine and it worked fine.

This device is a big help in recording telephone interviews. I use it with my telephone headset, so I can type and talk while recording.
Setup is painless: One plug to the handset/headset, one to the phone, and a 2.5mm plug to the recorder. No batteries! Just remember to set the Rec/Play switch correctly.

I don’t know what to say except that it works as advertised. I never used it in the play mode. I only use it in the record mode and it works great.

There’s not much to say about this product. It works the way it’s supposed to. It would be nice, however, if it came with a couple of pieces of velcro so that you could stick it to the side of the telephone and out of the way.
