I had no problems downloading both Federal and State. Worked great and got my taxes done in just a few hours, including e-filing! I went with 5 stars instead of 4 because I’m getting a great refund!

Turbotax Deluxe is awesome this year. I absolutely love it. The fact that now the product comes with not one free e-file for my federal return but 5 stuns me! It is unbelievable! Now I can complete my return, as well as my brothers, my sisters, as well as a couple of friends. ALL FOR ONE LOW PRICE! Keep up the good work Turbotax.

this is the best product out there. i understand people had issues with downloads and time outs but that could be their particular system, like someone mentioned it does not work well with vista. i am running a 5 year old laptop with XP and downloaded and installed it all in about 90 minutes and was up and running. $41.99 for the program, free state $40 value, and yes you do get it….. and you pay $19.99 for the state efile, or simply mail state portion. $62 and you’re done. or even 42 if had time to print and mail. cheap cheap! great product. at sams was 50 plus state efile i believe, they lowered it on last day (today) to 45 but still, this download from amazon wins.

To add to Mr Thornhill’s review, wait to download the state software until you have entered your personal info for the federal return. At the top (below the menu bar) there will be 2 big boxes — one indicating your federal tax owed/refund and the other for the state. Once you enter (or extract from previous tax year) your personal info, then the 2nd box will say you need to download your state version. Nowhere does Intuit ask you for money if you follow this (one state download is free). The e-file for the state is $20, though; I chose to print the generated pdf and mail it.
It took 5 mins to download with the Amazon software downloader — I have 5 Mbps Verizon FiOS. The installation on Vista Home Premium 32-bit version completed without problems. The installation and updates took about 10 mins.

I thought I would try TaxCut this year because it was a little cheaper. Total waste of money. After entering all my information the software somehow got corrupted and would not let me change any information. Spent over a half-hour with online tech support to no avail. Uninstalled and re-installed several time but still could not get TaxCut to work. Downloaded TurboTax and less than an hour later was done. Next year will be a nobrainer. TurboTax or nothing.
