I was shocked when this arrived and saw it was a ” NASCAR ” scanner. Granted the scanner may work wonderful, I will never know, and sure I could get a case to cover it, but I want this on my desk, I don’t want to pay good money for a big surprise LOGO on the scanner.
Not that im against Nascar, I just don’t want it on my desk and on my scanner. They should of mentioned that in the ad.
This one is going back.

This is an awesome scanner. Compact, powerful, and loaded with features. Easy to use right out of the box. Scans police frequencies, too! Crisp and clear sound quality. This is my 4th scanner I’ve had (I’m a Fire-medic)and it’s wonderful. But if you’re so freaking inept that you can’t function without using a computer to find your front door or if you’re so nieve that you don’t even know if your local PD scrambles their radio signals or if you think programming this unit is more difficult than dialing a cellphone or if you’re so stuck on yourself that you can’t have a miniature Nascar logo on your scanner (which, by the way, is in every picture ever produce of this unit), then this unit is NOT the one for you! (I believe they still make play-doh.) My guess is your cousin and your wife are one in the same. But if you want a quality product that you’ll be happy you bought, this IS for you. Once you take it out of the box, just go to [...] and click on your state and city and you’ll have all the frequencies you need. Experiment with different frequencies, as well. Enjoy!

I did indeed place the order for this item from Amazon on 1/24/09. Currently it is March 2, 2009 and the item is still backordered. So far, I’m pretty unhappy regarding this. I didn’t get notification of the delay until well after the order had been placed. And when I sent an email requesting information I got an email reply back stating they didn’t know when it will be coming. Pretty disappointing. Up until now I had nothing but good experiences with Amazon. I’m hoping this is an oddity and not a sign of things to come.
