Amazon put this item with Lightscribe media, which it is not. Seconds after I purchased this item, I told Amazon to cancel this item and do not send it. They sent this item anyway and took the money out of my account.Amazon then said that they would not return my money until they got this item back. Amazon then emailed the postage for me to print and cut out for the return of this item and said I had to drop it off at the nearest UPS, which is miles away. Being handicapped and not having any transportation, I called UPS to come pick it up. UPS said they would pick it up for 10 plus dollars, which I refuse to pay for an Amazon mistake, or for free if I saw a UPS truck in my neighborhood. This item is still in the unreturned box; in it’s unwrapped wrapper; and Amazon still has my money. Today Amazon sent me this email to review this product, so here’s my opinion. This product might be good, but you better watch out for Amazon!

I AM NEW TO BURNING VIDEO MATERIAL ONTO BLANK DISCS, ONLY DOING SO FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS NOW. IN THAT TIME I HAVE USED THREE DIFFERENT BRANDS OF BLANK DISCS- MEMOREX, STAPLES AND VERBATIM. FORGET MEMOREX- IN 5 BURN ATTEMPTS I PRODUCED 5 COASTERS. WITH STAPLES BRAND(SINGLE LAYER) I HAVE ONLY HAD ONE DISC THAT WOULD FREEZE UP AND SKIP CHAPTER STOPS- OUT OF 6 ATTEMPTS. WITH VERBATIM I HAVE RECORDED 18 OF 20 DISCS SUCCESSFULLY (DUAL LAYER 2.4X) AND 5 OF 5 SUCCESSFULLY WITH VERBATIM (DUAL LAYER 8X). WITH VERBATIM -CLARITY IS VERY NEAR PERFECT. CRISPNESS AND COLOR SATURATION IS AWESOME. DOLBY SURROUND SOUND 5 TO 1 IS GREAT ALSO. THE TWO VERBATIM DISCS THAT DID FAIL WERE USED TRYING TO MAKE A COPIED RECORDING OF THE SAME VIDEO DVD . I BELIEVE THAT THE PROBLEM WAS INHERENT IN THE ORIGINAL VIDEO DVD, IT WOULD JUST NOT RECORD, NOT VERBATIM’S FAULT. BECASE OF THE EXPENSE ISSUE I USE VERBATIM DISCS -DUAL LAYER ($ 1.30 per disc) FOR RECORDING ANYTHING OVER 120 MINUTES IN DURATION, AND STAPLES SINGLE LAYER DISCS -FOR MATERIAL UNDER 120 MINUTES IN DURATION (60 CENTS EACH). THIS SYSTEM IS WORKING OUT WELL FOR ME THUS FAR. TWO IMPORTANT NOTES HERE IN CLOSING, VERBATIM ADVERTISES THAT THEIR DUAL LAYER DISCS EITHER 2.4X OR 8X DISCS ARE BETTER FOR ARCHIVING YOUR MATERIALS ON DVD. SLOWER BURN SPEEDS SEEM TO BE BETTER. ALSO VERY IMPORTANT -MAKE SURE THAT ANY VERBATIM DISCS YOU PURCHASE ARE MANUFACTURED IN SINGAPORE. ORIGINS ANYWHERE ELSE WILL BE INFERIOR QUALITY AND WASTED MONEY. READ YOUR PRODUCT LABEL FOR VERIFICATION. HAPPY BURNING.

I’ve bought a stack of Verbatim DVD-DL and had not a single problems burning at 2.4x, then i figure i can save some money by getting the Amazon branded DVD-DLs. Well, several Amazon coasters later (burnt at 2.4x) I am going back to Verbatim and never switching brands again.

These DL are great. Haven’t had a problem yet and I’ve had them for a couple of months. Fast burning and great quality.

I tried some inexpensive double layer disks from Simple Tech. About 1 out of 3 worked on my computer, and I have two double layer compatible burners from different manufacturers (HP original equipment and one that I bought (I believe a Teac).
I’m now on my second package of the Verbatim double layer disks, and I haven’t experienced one error. I hate payng so much, but I must admit that it’s worth every penny to know that when I put in a blank disk I’m going to take out a recording.
