I am now on my second projector. The first projector arrived, I placed my iPod nano on the docking station and nothing happened – it could not find the iPod. I called ViewSonic’s customer service who told me that I should check the cable – it has a docking station, so how confident would you feel with this advice? I took it to our local Apple Store and we tried it with every single iPod model they have – it worked with none so we concluded the unit was bad.
After contacting Amazon, we received an immediate ship (the kind of terrific service that keeps me coming back to Amazon!!!). I sat the iPod in the cradle and the same thing happened. I call View Sonic’s customer service again. I spoke with Albert who seemed to know what he was talking about. He said that he had his iPhone working with it – I tried with my 3G but it did not connect. Albert said to put it in airplane mode – while I was trying this …. we were disconnected AHHHHHHHHHH! So, I called back in and was told that I could not get back to Albert. Sean helped me – nice guy, but no knowledge. He told me that maybe the problem was that it only worked with the original iPod, not any of the new ones. Do you believe that? If so, there was NO mention of it. Sean was unable to help me beyond this, but said he would send it up the chain to the engineers and maybe they would be able to set up a call in a day or so – best he could do. View Sonic – I am very, very disappointed!!!
I will let you all know what happens next. Kathy Cooper
11/26/08 I had a very nice experience with Josh at View Sonics customer service who tried to help in a patient and thoughtful way. We got it going after much fooling around. I would recommend Josh but not the product nor some of the others in customer service. This is a flawed product. It is not intuitive and it does not work consistently. I sent it back.

This projector is very effective. You can use your ipod for your presentation. Dont need to carry laptop.

The title for this product at this writing shows a weight of 2.9 pounds. The Viewsonic comparison sheet lists it as 3.9 lbs (and the PJ260D at the aforementioned 2.9 pounds).
Note: I randomly assigned stars to this only because the review requires it. I have no idea how many stars it should receive.
