I’m thankful that Amazon accepted my return with paid postage, however this review is to warn anyone else that this is a piece of junk. The “clamping” mechanism that’s supposed to hold your iPod does not lock, therefore, you risk having your iPod fall out of the holder. I didn’t even test the quality of the transmitter because I figured, why bother. It’s going right back to Amazon and hopefully I can find something better.

The transmitter was very inexpensive, and looks a little cheap. Surprisingly, the remote works but if you use an iPhone, the phone stands too tall and blocks the signal so the remote won’t work. Sometimes the transmitter connection to the iPod will stop working and go in and out, but for the amount of money you spend on this it would be expected and still worth it.

I took a chance with this product, despite some negative reviews, and was sorely disappointed. The unit does not do an adequate job of holding the device in place. The padded “arms” are designed to be squeezed up against the device to hold it in place, but they are just not powerful enough. Not only that, but the lower ledge that the device should set on is not deep enough, and so it adds no additional value.
Does it charge the device? Yup. (reason why I kept it)
Does it connect to the AM/FM? Yes, but with flaws. Since owning the product, it’s been challenging to find a good station where there isn’t interference with the device.
One final note about this product: getting everything connected is a pain. Connecting the charger, clamping the arms, connecting the audio out cable… Don’t plan to use the device again until you’re ready to take it out of this contraption. Actually, most of the time my phone was on the floor anyway, so no need to worry about taking it out!
